Heisman Trophy Stories - highlighted by The Legends Channel

Tonight the Heisman Trophy will awarded for the 72nd time.  The Legends Channel begins a new series about the Heisman Trophy.  As we find interesting stories and links on the web about the Heisman Trophy, we will highlight them here for you to read, listen or view. 

John Heisman, who is pictured here, was a pioneer of college football.  The New York Times published a great article "John Heisman, the Coach Behind the Trophy" which we would like to highlight.

Troy Smith, QB for Ohio State, should be a landslide winner of the trophy for this 2006 college football season.  The website called StiffArmTrophy.com has prepared an analysis called the "Biggest Winners Ever".  Last year's winner Reggie Bush,  '98 winner Ricky Williams and '93 winner Charlie Ward  were the top three biggest winners as shown by this analysis.  It is going to be interesting to see if Troy Smith will crack into the top three.
